Day 4:
Today I am at Whittier:
-Did a questioning activity again, with the students in 3rd and 4th grade- 1st time at this school-
-Reviewed some of the concepts about how it is important to ask questions when reading, and I gave students an activity to facilitate this
-Read to the kindergarten class
-Helped all students find books, go over library rules
-Worked with shelving
-Discussed book collection and current issues and concerns of funding in districts concerning the SLMS profession
-Talked to teachers to identify what issues there students may be having with checking out books that are at their reading level.
-I also worked with some 5th graders on an activity that required them to use encyclopedias.
